From healthy to invincible: Step 2 – Choose carbohydrates you eat very carefully

Nature made our bodies to function perfectly with carbohydrates we get from vegetables, fruits, legumes and certain grains. And than we invented sugar, white flour, rice fields, corn fields, and suddenly our bodies are in shock. And the deathly diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and others are on the rise. And healthy people are getting really sick and they wander why. This is why! Processed flour, sugar, all kinds of sweeteners are killing us every day.

We consume 20 times more carbohydrates from sweets, flour, white rice than we did 3000 years ago. And our bodies still didn’t have a chance to adjust. So instead of nourishing it, we throw them constantly out of the balance all the time and exposing them to the dangers. And that is a complete opposite of being invincible.

Right carbohydrate diet means low carbihydrate diet

Obsessing about what kind of carbohydrate you put into your mouth everyday, day in and day out is the second most important thing you can do for your health and becoming invincible with it. There are actually few studies done, most recent one in Denmark, that it doesn’t matter what you eat, as long as it’s not some poison or chemical, and if you eat only the right carbohydrates, your health will be great. In the same study, people who were on high trans fatty diet, but eat right carbohydrates like fruits and vegetables didn’t show any sign of heart disease or any sing of deteriorating health. Those on low fat diet and high carbohydrate diet developed higher blood pressure, loosed memory and showed higher than average inflammation.

This makes me to stop right here and tell you, that if you lift heavy things regularly, like I wrote in my previous step of how to become invincible, and choose the carbohydrates you eat very carefully you will become very healthy. Not totally invincible, there is a lot more work to do for that, but really, really healthy anyway.

Processed carbohydrates including sugar are like a powerful drug. Our body is simply not recognizing this kind of processed, sweet foods. When we eat high carbohydrate meal, our hormonal balance changes to the worst.

High carbohydrate intake, mainly from processed carbohydrates like sugar, white flour and white rice enter the blood stream very fast causing insulin levels to rapidly increase. And that’s creating a dangerous environment in our bodies, high inflammation and making us vulnerable to the disease. And that’s exactly the opposite of being invincible.

Weight training helps only partially to reduce excess carbohydrate intake

While weight training helps to reduce the dangerous effects of high carbohydrate and sugar intake, it is not enough for us to become invincible. Yes, people on high carbohydrate diet that do intensive heavy regular weight training will be generally healthy, because of higher demand of carbohydrates for heavy working muscles, but they will not become invincible.

To really get closer to becoming invincible, combination of these two is necessary. And those, who manage to pull it of and actually stay away from any processed carbohydrate and added sugar in their diet and keep doing their intensive weight training will make a huge step toward becoming invincible. It’s in these two steps, that the biggest step toward being invincible is made.

But also, these two biggest steps are the hardest to do. And 99% of people will not be able to persistently following it. If you become the 1% that will, congratulations. You have superhuman abilities that separates you from the crowds and you will be rewarded with an exceptional health. And I am not just coming with those numbers just like that. I made an extensive research about it. There is more like 0.3 % of people who do it 100% right.

Fruits and vegetables as ourĀ main source of carbohydrates

Now, that you realize the dangers of processed carbohydrates to your health, you should completely delete them from your diet. If you want to become invincible you have to stop eating these sugar dense, processed foods. Yes, bread included. If you are not willing to do that, stop reading right now, you will not become invincible. You can still be healthy, but as I said before, being averagely healthy can be pretty dangerous. Healthy people die from scary diseases everyday. Eating right carbohydrates is the base of invincible lifestyle.

So, you will be left with only good carbohydrates and that means eating mainly fruits and vegetables. Suddenly, your daily carbohydrate intake decreases. You will start feeling better and you will become healthier from day one. If you are overweight, you’ll start loosing weight immediately.

Many people think, that fresh fruits contain a huge amour of sugar simply because they taste very sweet. While it’s true, that fresh fruit contains more sugar than fresh vegetable, it still contains very little sugar compared to pasta, sweets and other processed carbohydrates. And this naturally occurring sugar comes with natural dose of fiber, vitamins and minerals. And that makes a huge difference.

Fruit juice is just another kind of candy

With processing, the beneficial fiber is taken away from the food. Like for example, orange juice. It says, it is 100% orange juice. Even the freshly squeezed one straight from oranges is already processed. You just took the best out of it – fiber.

So let’s say you do squeeze that orange juice right now from oranges. Than this is 100% orange juice. The problem is, that you just made it processed 100% orange juice. By squeezing it, you got rid of fiber and what is left is a sugar water with maybe some vitamins. And you can drink this sugar water all day long. Ok, it is definitely better for you than orange juice you can buy in the store for 3.99, mainly because it still has some natural vitamins in it and much less sugar in it. But it is still processed, sweet stuff.

A lot is written in health literature about juicing. And many health gurus are recommending juicing as a way of heathy life. This is a wrong health advice and these gurus don’t know the basics of healthy eating. Juicing is processing. By processing, you get rid of good stuff and eat or in this case drink bad stuff. And fresh juicing means drinking bad stuff all day long for months and years. What an unhealthy lifestyle that is. My advice to you about juicing is: If you want to be healthy and invincible, forget juicing.

Vegetarian diet can be terrible diet

I used to train an guy, who was young, about 33 years old, very smart and strict vegetarian. On the first session we had together, he told me enthusiastically, that he is vegetarian and that he has a juicer and he is practicing a widely recommended by Health gurus – juicing.

He looked at me, waiting to applaud to him, how healthy lifestyle he was leading. And when that didn’t happened, it pretty much set usĀ apart from day one, when I told him my opinion about juicing. Many people are not interested to change. They have their own truth. The truth, that is just a comfortable habit.

This young overweight vegetarian on fresh juicing program contacted me mainly because of his doctor recommendation to exercise, to improve his high blood sugar levels. The problem wasn’t really in his lack of exercise, although that was missing too, the problem was in his eating habits. Juicing and vegetarian diet consisting of eating pizzas, bagels, breads, sweets, cereals is the worst diet you can be on. Period!

If you eat 3 whole oranges and drink water and stop because you have enough, you naturally put less sugar into your system, than if you drink one full glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. And that’s great! Less processed sugar is better!
So, please avoid all juices, freshly squeezed orange juice included.

Carbohydrates intake and body weight

Processed carbohydrates are empty calories. Unless you are professional long distance runner or Tour de France bike racer, you won’t use them fast. And they will store around your waist as fat.

The hormonal imbalance they create in your body seems to be helping with extra fat storage on your body. Plus, this hormonal imbalance caused by processed carbohydrates creates extra inflammation in your body, exposing it to the big danger.

Obesity is a major health risk factor for many scariest diseases out there, like cancer, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and impotence. And often times obesity could be easily avoided by just eating right carbohydrates in your diet. That means, replacing pasta, fries, rice, bagels, buns with mainly vegetables and fruits, without drinking anything sweetened, just plain water.

Overweight people don’t even have to exercise. It would be certainly very beneficial for them, but just by replacing their carbohydrates for fruits and vegetables and by drinking only plain water, they would loose a lot of weight. If they sticked to the diet like this, they could even get very lean. Maybe even having their six pack clearly visible.It is definitely worth trying.

High carbohydrate intake and sleep

Too much carbohydrates in your diet, caused by eating processed foods will cause your sleep to suffer. And average healthy American diet is already too high on carbohydrates. No wonder, that people feel tired all the time.

Many people already gave up on their quality sleep. They haven’t gotten any for many years now and so they think, that, well they are just getting older and bad sleep comes with it.

The real truth is, that mainly their diet causes their sleep to suffer. Eating processed foods and mainly plain sugar and flour in them and other pollutants like MSG will not let you have a good night rest. You’ll wake up in the morning tired.

A lot of people are in this vicious cycle of eating garbage and not sleeping well for long time. This is a very dangerous cycle to be in. There is a constant inflammation in your body and that makes even the fittest and leanest persons immunity drop to the lowest levels. And solution to this problem is quite simple. Don’t eat processed carbohydrates and processed foods generally, and replace them with mainly fresh fruits, vegetables.

Giving up processed carbohydrates

I know, giving up all your favorite carbohydrates like breads, pasta, cakes, croissants, juices, sweets can be very challenging. I went through it. It was hard. But as soon as I experienced the differences in my energy levels, health, sleep, performance and general great feeling, I never turned back. Now, looking at big milk chocolate bar, makes me think twice, if I really want to eat it. It will taste great, I know it, but I will pay for that later with feeling sluggish, sleepy and having a terrible sleep. And I know, that I will derail myself from the invincible rail. So I grab 2 apples instead.

I urge you to give it a try. Try to live for 7 days without processed carbohydrates and eat only fruits and vegetables instead. See how you feel, sleep and think. Step on the scale. You might just never turn back after what you experience. And you will be on the first 2 steps, and probably the most important steps of becoming invincible.

How about dark chocolate?

Yes dark chocolate is good for you. But don’t expect me to recommend it just like that – to recommend it like many other health based articles do: eat some dark chocolate everyday. That is not becoming invincible advice. The becoming invincible advice is to eat a little bit of 100% cocoa based dark chocolate. And I don’t really care how often. Why? 100% cocoa based dark chocolate contains 0 adder sugar. It’s basically just plain cocoa based chocolate. And that is a great food in becoming invincible diet world. Can’t find one? Look better. They are out there.

Do your carbohydrate sources need to be organic?

No they don’t. If it grows on the three and in the nature, it’s a good carbohydrate. With some rear exception, where a lot of chemicals is being used to grow certain produce, going organic is not necessary.

And nothing else!

Ok, so you just learned about the kind of carbohydrates you can eat to become invincible. What else do I have to add to it? I will add one more thing to it and it is this: Don’t make an exception to this rule. You can’t eat any other carbohydrate. That’s it. If you do, you immediately step away from the path of being invincible.

So, the second step to becoming invincible is to not compromise on your carbohydrate consumption. That means eating only the carbohydrates above. Mainly fruits, vegetables, legumes, some plain grains and some 100% cocoa dark chocolate. If you compromise and have occasional bread, bagel, candy bar, you are becoming immediately average healthy person, and loosing your invincibility. And this program is about becoming invincible not average.
