Pull ups work almost all the major upper body muscle groups in very effective and intensive way. Pull ups are the miraculous, time effective, health, strength, six pack abs promoting exercise. I can not recommend them more to you. Pull ups a single best exercise in my six pack abs world! And I am convinced that they should be in yours too.
There is actually a close correlation of how many pull ups you can do and extra fat on your belly – six pack abs visibility. The closer you get to 10 pull ups the more your six pack abs uncovers from belly fat. When you eventually are able to perform 10 pull ups in a row, there is a pretty good chance of six pack abs being seen on your stomach.
Your pull up station
First, you need a pull up station – pull up bar. You might be able to find one in your local park. Children playgrounds have lots of hidden pull up stations you can use to do pull ups. Or, you can find naturally build pull up bar in form of tree branches. Just be careful to not fall. Always be cautious of any dangers of falling out there. Simply said: don’t be stupid!
My favorite pull up station for six pack abs creation is builded to very close proximity where I am spending the most time of my days. That’s why I have 5 of them. I have one of those you can buy in every sports store build on the doorframe in my apartment. It’s there always ready, when I am ready.
Another one is on the children’s playground where I spend a lot of time with my little monkey boy. Yes, he is already doing pull ups. And actually, you can already see a little six pack abs visible on his belly. Pretty cool indeed. He can do 1 and 1/2 pull up. Anyway, this children playground pull up bar wasn’t meant to be a pull up bar. It’s just another bar for kids to hang. But named it my pull up bar number 2. Yes, you have to be creative. There are a hidden pull up bar stations everywhere out there.
My pull up bar number 3 is at my work. I use the gate frame as pull up station.
My number 4 pull up bar is actually outdoors pull up bar made as pull up station. I really love this one. For some reason, it’s always empty. Well, I know why. Pull ups are very hard. But pull ups are worth to master. They are very effective training tool to achieve six pack abs, health and huge amount of energy. But not that many people are willing to work that hard. That’s why they are always empty.
My 5th pull up bar is a tree branch. Yes, this pull up bar was created for me by nature. I actually saw some other human monkeys performing pull ups there. So it was created for humans to by nature to do pull ups. Nature simply know what is good for us. I consider myself as a human monkey since I can do a lot of pull ups. A lot!
So, here you see, that it should be fairly easy to find a good pull up station. Be creative and don’t settle until you find one. Definitely get one for home, so it’s always there and than find some others in the environment you hang out a lot at. Yes, that means a work environment too.
Modified pull ups
Not everybody can perform a pull up. They are very intensive exercise. And there is actually a very small percentage of population who is able to perform 1 pull up.
I have friend in their twenties who are not able to do 1 pull up. These are guys and I find it very weak to be actually this weak in a primers me strength vise of your life. Plus, how are you going to escape that bear chasing you while you were camping, if you are so weak you cannot climb a tree. Being able to climb a tree requires at least 1 pull up.
Women’s natural body composition (more fat naturally occurring on the body) and the less muscle mass makes pull ups almost impossible to do for women. But there is a way to master them. And yes, you guessed it right. It takes work and it takes a lot of work, persistence and dedication. There are women out here that can do 10 pull ups. Madonna is one of them. And she is like fifty or something like that.
In the case, you are not able to perform a pull up, you start with modified pull ups.
There are two methods how to do a modified pull ups.
Method number 1
This is the easiest way to master pull ups and to get closer to your six pack abs. You need to stay consistent.
Bring a chair under your pull up bar. Stand on it and grab a pull up bar with a grip slightly wider than shoulders apart. Bend your elbows to a full flexed position – high pull up position and let your feet go of the chair. Hang in this position as long as you can. Repeat 3-5 times several times 5-7 per day.
Method number 2
This method is my favorite, but it is not easier than method number 1. Stand under the pull up bar. Grab pull up bar with a grip wider than shoulders apart. Now jump up and pull at the same time. Be careful to not hit your head. Hold for few seconds and get back down on the floor and jump up again. Repeat as many times as you can do. Do 5-7 sets per day.
If you stay consistent, doing your modified pull ups 2-3 times per week on nonconsecutive days, you will be eventually able to perform a real pull ups. And as soon as you can do real ones, after being able to do 1 pull up and more, stick to 5-7 sets and do maximum repetitions you can do of real pull ups. At this point your upper body strength increases substantially.
Your six pack abs will be more and more visible with every pull up you master and that will keep you motivated to stick with it.
Variations of pull ups
Once you are able to perform 5 pull ups and more, start adding some of the different variation of pull ups. Variation makes things more interesting and it also works out those upper body muscles from different angles. I dedicated an article full of pictures to pull ups and it’s variations. Be carefull. Know your limits. Don’t be stupid!
Pull ups mastery and six pack abs go hand in hand together. If you are so fit, that you can do at least 10 pull ups, there is a pretty high chance that you have six pack abs visible on you belly. And all the great side effects with it, like great invincible health, energy, attractiveness, creativity and every aspect of your life. Well, there are not that many people out there with six pack abs. And that means there are not that many people who can really do 10 pull ups. Anyway, If you want to get six pack abs, start working on those pull ups. Enough said.
