How to be thankful

My long time friend told me the other day while sitting in a bar and enjoying a local bear something that changed my life. He is going through some financial hardship right now, but what he said made things bring to a little bit different perspective. It actually elevated our mood substantially.

This is what he said: Milan, as long as I am healthy, my family is healthy and friends are healthy, everything else is just a bonus. Fantastic! I love it, and I strongly believe it is true.

Do you stress about having only 2 weeks vacation? Or do you hate your job? Or house? Or car? Are you depressed, that neighbors have a nicer and bigger yard? My answer to this is: Are you healthy? Is your family healthy? Are the majority of your friends healthy? Than shut up! Everything else, yes, that 2 week vacation and that crappy house and car you have is just a bonus! Be thankful for it. You already have a lot! Health is an incredible asset to have.

How about those who don’t have a good health. Maybe it’s their fault, because of their unhealthy lifestyle. Maybe it’s not their fault and they did everything they could for their health. Anyway, if you are not that healthy and you can improve your health with a change in lifestyle, do it! Now! Fast! Before it’s too late! And maybe it is too late! No, it is never too late to improve your health. Anyway, health is your biggest asset and everything else is just a bonus. Keep that in mind and your life will change.
