How to never get sick

August 17, 2011 by Milan

You probably think that having few colds throughout the fall and winter season is a normal thing and everybody is affected. Many people around us get cold at least once in winter season, so it is understandable to think that way.

But I disagree.

While the cold is not a major thread to your health and you get over it relatively fast, it is unpleasant,  it severely decreases your performance and makes you feel miserable.

I haven’t been sick for 3 years now. Not even a minor cold. I just don’t get sick anymore. And I am not kind of a person who lives Michael Jackson like isolated lifestyle, staying away from crowds of people and protecting myself from germs.

I am a trainer and I hang out a lot at germs infested places like gyms and health clubs most of the time where I train people. I frequently surf in dirty ocean spots and hang out around kids.

While I can’t 100% explain the reason for my strong immunity system, I think I know why I don’t get sick.

It is mainly my natural sugar free, flour free, rich in vegetables and fruits diet. I changed my diet completely about 3 years ago. Before that, I used to get colds several times per year, like any other averagely eating person. And as you might know, average American diet is a very terrible diet.

So how is my diet different?

Check my recommended diet here.

I stopes eating sugar and any flour based baked products like breads, bagels, pastries. The whole grain breads included. They just claim to be whole grain, but they are not. And of course I stopped eating anything that is processed and commercially packaged. These and sweetened drinks and foods are the worst enemies to your immunity system.

Why is what you eat so powerful to our immunity system?

These kind of bad foods create a hormonal imbalance in our bodies, and that causes it to become vulnerable to outside (cold, flu) and inside (cancer) danger and than we get sick. These vulnerable, low immunity conditions mainly happen few hours after we eat something bad.

Food is a powerful drug and what you eat determines how you keep your hormonal balance in order and that determines how you feel and ultimately how healthy you are.

Our bodies were naturally build to protect themselves. And than came Coca Cola, hot pockets, candy bars, cakes, croissants, hot dogs, Milano cookies and suddenly our bodies are in constant danger. Eating these stuff is like destroying the the protective wall in kings palace at war and letting the enemy to freely come in and kill the king.

I know, it’s not easy to not eat these kind of foods, mainly because they taste so good. They are addictive and often claim, that they are healthy, organic, made from natural ingredients and other terrible lies. Organic sugar is as bad for you as normal sugar, so is brown sugar. But, it is possible to overcome these traps. And, if you truly care about your health, you have to stop eating these foods.

So, if you don’t want to get sick and there is much, much bigger advantage to these, than not getting that minor cold once or twice per year, like defending yourself against cancer, diabetes and heart disease are the other major benefits, you have to drastically improve your diet.

Eat zero sugar. The one in fruits and vegetables is good sugar. The good sugar means, it is actually very low sugar, even if that orange tastes very sweet. It’s low in sugar. Trust the nature. It really has it figured out very well. Only we think we are smarter, but we are not. The evidence is clear, cancer and heart disease and diabetes is on the rise.

Stay away from white flour, eat protein with every meal, add some good fats, don’t drink any sweetened beverages, eat huge amount of fruits and vegetables, add some nuts, avocados and olive oil and don’t compromise. If you don’t, your body will stay naturally immune and you will not get sick anymore. Just don’t forget about washing your hands, exercising and getting some sun every day too.
