The best thing you can do today and everyday

What is the single best thing you can do today? The thing you get the most return on your time?

Anyone who will give you a simple answer will probably try to sell you something. But there really is one think above all.

I was really thinking hard to find something more important than doing some kind of physical activity for an hour. But, I didn’t find anything more important than that.

Doing some kind of physical activity for 1 hour  and of course even shorter periods than 1 hour ones count too is the single most important thing you can do today and everyday.

It doesn’t really have to be running on treadmill for 60 min. or lifting weights, even if that would be great too. It could be gardening, bicycling, playing basketball, running outside, building a house, kayaking or remodeling your kitchen.

You might think: yes he is a fitness freak and of course he will be telling me, that the most important thing I can do in my day is to exercise for an hour.

If you think that something else is more important, than what I just said, I am sorry but you’re wrong. And you really have to change your priorities.

Many people would think, that the single most important thing you can do in your day is somehow to help somebody: aging parent or somebody in need or to donate your time for a noble cause.

But I strongly disagree.

Yes, giving your helping hand to somebody else is very important, but taking care of your own health is far, far, far more important. If you are not healthy, you can not help anybody else and if you don’t do some kind of physical activity on most of your days, you will not be healthy.

Hard physical work is primal to all of us. It’s necessary for our health and well being. Let me repeat that one more time: Hard physical work is necessary for our health and well being and without it, you will be certainly sick sooner or later.  

I am not trying to scare you, I just want you to really take it seriously.

Today, right now, forget everything else for few minutes and think very hard, how, when and where are you going to get this 1 hour of some intensive physical work done. Think, plan, right now! Got it? Great.

Now, when it’s 100% sure that your hour of physical activity will be done, you can start thinking about other less important things to do for somebody else.

If you say, that you don’t have that much time in your day, than I am sorry, if you care about your health and you probably do, you’ll have to rearrange your life somehow. And you’ll have to do that fast, because you are playing with fire. And that fire is your health. And when that fire gets out of control, it could be to late. It could be to late to be able to help somebody you love.
